About us
The Glass House was set up by Bryony Benwell in 2000.
Bryony has 23 years of experience working with glass as a medium. After gaining
a degree in the history of art she was offered the opportunity to do a four year apprenticeship in stained glass at the studios of York Minster. Here she became proficient in all aspects of stained glass, from its design to the conservation of medieval glass.
From here she spent the next 8 years managing a stained glass team at a large company in Hertfordshire called Chapel Studio, which specialised in large church and corporate commissions involving both restoration and new work.
The Glass House was born out of her passion for glass and her ability to be able to follow a commission from concept through design, production and fitting.
Bryony calls on other specialists in the field when necessary including Lindsay Abbot and Petri Anderson both freelance specialists in stained glass painting and John Dilworth who helps with fitting and is the brains behind the metal sculptures.
All picked for their talent, experience, skill and enthusiasm. |
